Intercepts on Axes
To find the y-intercept, set \(x = 0\).
To find the x-intercept, set \(y = 0\).
Example
Find intercepts of \(y = 2x + 4\):
→ y-intercept: \(x = 0\), so \(y = 4\)
→ x-intercept: \(0 = 2x + 4\) ⇒ \(x = -2\)
Practice
Find the x-intercept of \(y = -3x + 6\)
